APOLOGY FROM THE FORMER PLAYERS ASSOCIATION
For the home match against Crawley Town, some Dale fans will have noticed there was no appearances by ex-players at the popular match day hospitality and half time 50/50 draw.
We’re really sorry but there has been no direct contact from the Club, only a vague message that there is no provision for pre-match hospitality planned, you would have thought that a Club official would have had the decency to explain why there is nothing scheduled this season.
Hospitality appearances and the 50/50 draw have been extremely popular with Dale fans, especially legendary stories of the players times at the Crown Oil Arena like, why Paul Connor was nicknamed “Trigger” and yes it was related to the character in Only Fools And Horses but the explanation was a joy to listen to.
In recent times we’ve witnessed 56 Rochdale AFC legends doing their stuff including Keith Hill, Dave Flitcroft, Mark Stuart, Gary Jones and many more but not happening again this season by all account.
It’s very disappointing to say the least that Rochdale AFC don’t appear to value past legends like most other Club round professional football.
